A demonstration of my attempts to write this post:
UGHHHHH. Didn’t know what the heck to post today. Too special to do just a regular post, but can’t find any really good fiction that center around the Fourth of July to write about… Sorry, guys, I just didn’t know what to write So, I was going over my ideas for the books to write about today and I came to the conclusion that I had well, NOTHING. GOOO AWAY AND COME BACK TOMORROW, YOU STUPID POST. Me: Hmm, maybe I should start out with this video: Me: Or maybe this one: Me: Or this one:
And then it hit me.
National Treasure: Book of Secrets. It’s the movie I’m planning to watch on the Fourth of July, and one of my favorite historical movies that isn’t a documentary. Personally, I just think Nicholas Cage is awesome, and I love National Treasure. This movie is really funny and cool. It wasn’t as good as The Usual Suspects or The Fifth Element or, definitely not, Inception, but it was a pretty great, mysterious adventure movie.
Synopsis: In this adventure-filled sequel to the 2004 blockbuster National Treasure, Nicolas Cage reprises his role as artifact hunter and archaeologist extraordinaire Ben Franklin Gates. In this outing, Gates learns of his own family’s implication in the assassination of Abraham Lincoln by John Wilkes Booth. Gates must then locate an elusive diary, not only to clear his family’s name, but to unearth and connect several secrets, buried within the book, that point to a massive, global conspiracy.
Anyway, I’m planning to watch the movie and then go down to my brother’s friend’s house for his yearly Fourth of July party. It’ll be nice for my big brother to see all of his friends again. What can I say? They’re all busy, amazing people. And their little siblings have always been my friends. ;) We’ll probably shake up some soda really good and then explode it on the lawn to make soda sprinklers. (Don’t worry, we clean up everything afterwards and it can’t hurt anyone).
So that’s it for my Fourth of July post, guys! I hope you can be with all your friends and family…
Eat lots of good food…
Watch some amazing fireworks…
And have a great 2013 Fourth of July!
