Hi all! So I recently got the chance to ask Kelly Preston, author of REAL DOGS DON’T WHISPER, a few questions on her book and what it’s like to write about dogs. We decided to do a short guest post through the people at Pump Up Your Book Blog Tours. Check it out below!
Kelly Preston: Writing For Dogs in Fiction
Hi Kelly, welcome to RealityLapse.
Thanks for having me.
RL: Kelly, the message within Real Dogs Don’t Whisper is about giving those with special needs a second chance. The book touches on integrity, unconditional love, leadership, trust, stopping abuse and opening your heart to receive and give both unconditional love and friendship. What is your favorite part of writing about dogs?
KP: Where do I begin? I truly like that dogs actually do live in the moment, what happened thirty minutes ago, is forgotten and enjoying the present. Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we were able to just let go and live in the moment? I have found that throughout the years, dogs are just as unique as you and I; each having their own personality, clear on what they like and don’t like; and, love to be social. It is very interesting to sit back and watch dogs interact with each other, determining who is the leader of the pack and those that aren’t, fall into place. When you stop and think about it, dogs have an amazing amount of respect for each other. Again, I ask; wouldn’t it be great if us humans did the same? Oh yes, dogs can teach us so much about life, about ourselves, how to live in harmony and love each other.
Thanks to Kelly Preston for doing this guest post!
