Honestly, I loved this book. From the very beginning both Tyler and Toby really grew on me as characters and as everyone else was introduced, I began to care about them as well. The relationship between Toby and his brother and the superpowers of each of the Indigo Children was well portrayed and just what I wanted it to be. The relationship between Tyler and Liliana was my favorite though, and their witty dialogue using telepathy was fun for me to read. I was hoping for a great supernatural superpower read to tide me over for the superhero reads I’m waiting for in 2014, and this was just the thing to do it.
There were lots of twists and turns to this book to keep me occupied, but I do have to admit–while I did enjoy the characters right from the very beginning I thought that it took me a few chapters to get into this book fully. The themes to this story are what really shine through, especially the suspense and drama to this book. The characters fit right in and I enjoyed seeing the relations between them, considering the fact that all the Indigo Children are of different ages. I appreciated seeing that it was not restricted to one age group, and I felt like Jacinda did a good job playing with each of the kids.
Overall, I would highly recommend this book to someone looking for a great superhero read with a lot of suspense. The writing is easy to follow, so that I feel even advanced middle-grade kids could enjoy this book throughly. I liked a lot about INDIGO INCITE, and the highlights of humor to it. It’ll have you right up until the very end and even after so that you’ll want to read it again. Oh yeah, THE CLIFFHANGER IS AWFUL. I’m eagerly awaiting book two of this series! 4 stars.
