Seventeen-year-old Charley doesn’t know the rules. She doesn’t even know where she is. The last thing she remembers is blacking out, and when she wakes up, she’s lying naked in an empty rock field.
Lost and alone, Charley finds no sign of other people until she meets Thad, the gorgeous leader of a clan of teenage refugees. Soon Charley learns that leaving the island is harder than she thought . . . and so is falling in love. With Thad’s time running out, Charley realizes that to save their future, Charley must first save him. And on an island rife with dangers, their greatest threat is time.

I’ve known Lynne Matson for a little over a year now, and in that time, it has been so much fun promoting her books, getting to know more about the worlds (and characters) she creates and everything in between. She’s an amazing writer, and an awesome person to work with. AND NIL UNLOCKED, HER NEW BOOK, IS COMING OUT IN 2 MONTHS. For those of you who haven’t heard about it, or had your doubts about it after reading NIL, you should check out the awesome NIL UNLOCKED webpage! There will be promo content coming out every week up to the release date, so you can learn more about Lynne and her books.
Normally, I interview Lynne or have her guest post about her stories, but today Lynne decided to write a little bit about me as part of The Silver Words coming out!
Sharing Some Author Love
I’m so stoked to be guest posting on Eli’s new Silver Words blog today, because I have so much love for Eli! Eli was one of the very first bloggers to reach out to me after reading NIL, and he was also one of the first bloggers to embrace the #NILtribe. As a debut author, that support meant—and still does—the world to me.
Being a debut author is exciting.
And full of unknowns. (Kind of like Nil. hehe)
The thing is, when you put your book baby out into the wild, you know that some people will say it’s ugly.:) But if you’re lucky, others will love it and find beauty tucked inside those pages; those are the readers who connect with the story as you wrote it. Those are the readers an author writes for! (Because let’s face it, books are subjective. And if we all liked the same ones, how boring would that be?!)
Eli is one of those readers for me, and not just for me—Eli’s a great author supporter all around. If he loves a book, he shares it, which is the best gift you can ever give an author.
So thank you Eli, for loving books, for loving NIL, and for being a proud member of the #NILtribe! And thank you for all the INCREDIBLE support of NIL UNLOCKED!
If you haven’t checked it out yet, Eli made a cool, interactive website for NIL UNLOCKED, where I’ll regularly be sharing NIL UNLOCKED secrets and scoop each Tuesday. (Hello Tribal Tuesdays!:D) Come over and check it out!
But before you go, enter the giveaway below! To thank Eli, I’m giving away a signed hardback copy of NIL on his blog! The clock is ticking.;)
Ohhh she went there. No regrets, right? And you want to make sure you don’t regret not reading this book! Enter in the giveaway below, and be sure to connect with Lynne! Thanks so much to Lynne for hosting this giveaway and for writing this amazing guest post :D
Lynne is a former attorney who thinks writing books for teens is much more fun. :) Her debut novel, NIL, a YA thriller with a SF twist, will be published by Macmillan/Henry Holt on March 4, 2014.
When she’s not writing or reading, you’ll find her hanging out with her husband and their 4 boys, usually at the beach. Cookies are her kryptonite, especially thin mints.
