White Cat by Holly Black – My Full Review
This book was pleasantly surprising. I didn’t at all expect it to be as good as it was, and it made me gain a whole other level of respect for Holly Black.
Initially, I thought White Cat would be yet another one of those paranormal novels, but the characters were real and genuine and the romance actually took a very subplot role.
Cassel was endearing from the very beginning, and Holly Black did a great job of portraying him as someone who just wants to be a regular guy.
Many authors try for that whole “there’s another world out there, but I want to be in this one” deal, and it doesn’t work at all. In White Cat, everyone flowed seamlessly. While it isn’t awe-inspiringly amazing, it’s a great fantasy and a paranormal that I would recommend even to people who don’t usually enjoy that genre.
Before there was Justin Bieber, there was Jesse McCartney.
Honest trailers are wonderful, but this one was especially great. I liked how it handled the Miles Teller / Ansel Elgort / Shailene Woodley loop. If you’re up for another one, here’s the one for TFIOS :3
