The Mondays Musts is a feature by Jessica @ Lovin’ los Libros! Every Monday, you post about your must read, must listen, and must watch.
Hi everyone! Sorry, I haven’t done a Monday Musts in a while, but I’m so glad that I’m coming back with this one. This Monday Musts really does host three of my recent favorite things, and they’re all worth checking out.
Strange the Dreamer is the story of:
the aftermath of a war between gods and men
a mysterious city stripped of its name
a mythic hero with blood on his hands
a young librarian with a singular dream
a girl every bit as perilous as she is imperiled
alchemy and blood candy, nightmares and godspawn, moths and monsters, friendship and treachery, love and carnage.
Welcome to Weep.
Yes, yes, I know. I already wrote a glowing review for the preview of Strange the Dreamer that I got at BEA, but this book must go down as a must read.
I covered it in my review, but in short, this book is everything. And on top of everything, it’s fresh and addicting.
You need it. Here’s why.
I won’t go into the line-by-line symbolism breakdown (which I actually have here, somewhere…) but Drops of Jupiter is a beautiful song, and I love Train’s music.
Don’t be fooled by the low ratings. Don’t be fooled by the trailer that doesn’t do this movie justice. Like Sunday, Like Rain is brilliant. If you know about Myers Briggs classification, it comes the closest to portraying an INFJ relationship out of everything I’ve ever seen (or read). Like Sunday, Like Rain means so much to me personally, and it’s a must must watch.
If you did a Monday Musts, link it below and I’ll check it out!
