The Mondays Musts is a feature by Jessica @ Lovin’ los Libros! Every Monday, you post about your must read, must listen and must watch.
We Own the Night got me thinking about the only other “fat girl” book I’ve ever read and truly loved, Artichoke’s Heart.
There are so many parallels between the two stories, even though they’re set in different cities and with very different plots. Both heroines are honest and heartbreaking without needing to be crude or appear strong all the time.
I loved getting to know the main character of each, and in the end, I was completely won over. It’s been a while since I talked about this one, but if you’re looking for a body image novel, look no further; Artichoke’s Heart is for you.
YG’s new girl group, BLACKPINK, debuted yesterday with two music videos, Boombayah and Whistle. I prefer Whistle because it sounds new, whereas Boombayah is reminiscent of 2NE1’s sound. I have high hopes for this group, and even though I’m not sure what to think of them yet, I’m proud of them topping all the music charts so early in their debut! To learn more about BLACKPINK’s members, you can check out YG United’s article.
While we’re on the black theme, here’s an inside look at vanta black, the blackest black in the world. It’s similar to a black hole. It’s so dark that a laser can’t shine on it.
