The Mondays Musts is a feature by Jessica @ Lovin’ los Libros! Every Monday, you post about your must read, must listen and must see. Every week, I pick my musts based on a certain theme, which is expressed by one word that’s used within the post. The theme for last week’s picks was throwback.
And I Darken is so much more than meets the eye. I mean–I was expecting a lot when I heard that Kiersten White was releasing a new book, but she managed to completely take me by surprise with this one.
The characters are at the head of everything. They manipulate. They lie, steal, cheat, love, hate, live. They form relationships and they break them and nothing is easy, especially for the main characters. Lada, Mehmed, and Radu stole my heart in a way that only they could.
Looking back, this book does feel a little bit thick to get through, but if you do, it’s so worth it. The developments of the characters and the things that they go through at the expense of each other is beautifully constructed, and I’m eagerly anticipating the release of the sequel.
This was the first version of If I Were You that I heard, and now it’s the only one I can listen to. Lee Hi’s vocals fit perfectly into the song, and I love being able to hear CL’s voice in this as well. Not too long ago, I heard that she originally came to YG as a singer, not a rapper, but it’s rare that we get to see her sing. It’s also rare that we see her cry, though it makes sense considering that she wrote this song. It’s a very different side of CL, and it reminds me why I love her in 2NE1.
Magnets! They’re amazing! This video drew and kept my attention the entire way through, and I have a newfound appreciation for magnets now.
If you did a Monday Musts, link it below and I’ll check it out! What do you think the theme today was?
